Brian McKeldin hospitalized

Brian McKeldin has been hospitalized earlier today due to a collapsed lung. He is expected to be in the hospital for a week while his lung is repaired. Cloud Nine asks that the teams we are scheduled to play in CAL and CEVO remain patient while we scramble to find a temporary replacement.
For more information, stop by our IRC channel or leave a comment here. Hope you get better soon, Brian!

Cloud Nine attending Cyberzone!

Making their third appearance to the only successful CoD2 LAN tournament to date, C9 will be in Philadelphia this weekend. In the past Cyberzone has proven a tough venue to dominate but this time around things we are determined to make a difference. Wish us luck as we take on the likes of some of CoD2's best (we'll pretend that is an honorable categorization). In attendance will be west, drty, sm1Ley, dakoda and a ringer. Brian McKeldin could not attend due cto a family reunion (yes, smurfs have them too). We're aiming to best our past two LAN performances and take home the coveted Cyberzone 1st place spot.

Team Cloud Nine V3 Launched!

Welcome to the new and improved version of our website! This website has been in development for some time and we are finally releasing it to you. As you can hopefully see, we have chosen to place functionality and content before style. That is not to say that we have neglected the graphical user interface completely, but as you will experience it is now a lot more fun to interact! Some new things that we are excited about are the updated match information pages, user profiles, player information card, and overall layout. You will find that navigating our new interface is much slicker and user interaction is now much easier to facilitate than was our previous website. Please note, though, that there are still a certain number of things that we need to work out. The site has been optimized for use in the mozilla-based browsers, with notable glitches in IE that will be worked out over time. Also, in the interest of time we have left out a few features. You will see these become fully functional within the month. We hope you enjoy the show!

New website release soon!

Before we launch our new site, I want to take the time to show off this movie that I just realized came out early this year that shares its name with our team! Below is a small image: This is a film about a "perpetual loser" goes and has lunch at a super-sexy strip club called Cloud 9. He then forms the worlds sexiest volleyball team with the strippers and they go on to compete in volleyball competitions and such. The full summary and reader-reviews can be found on the Amazon.com website.

Now is your chance!

We are going to try to take a more abnormal approach to completing our roster for the remainder of CoD 2; rather than letting people we have known for a while play with us, we'd like to introduce some fresh, new blood to the team. Thus, we decided on a web application that random players can fill out and we'll get back to you if we like you.For more information, fill out our application. Good luck!

Cloud 9 makes CAL-IM CoD 2

In the wake of the apparentness of our dwindling interest (less-than-admirable CEVO and CAL records) in our current game of choice, we have been promoted to CAL-IM in CoD 2. Although among the oldest and most successful teams in the original CoD, our 5-3 record in CoD 2's inaugural season was not enough to persuade a CAL-Main promotion. The promotion to intermediate has re-kindled our ambition to be the top team that we were once regarded as by many and thus, we're putting into practice a tougher schedule. This coming season of CAL and CEVO will be a testament to whether or not this has paid off, but either way, you should see us back on top within the next few months.

Cloud 9 vs Revelry: Post-match recap

As luck would have it, the night that GGL Americup Invite's only two 2-0 teams go up against each other head-to-head, Cloud 9's starter and lead strat caller has a motherboard meltdown and it fries. Forced to sub-in a rusty backup, and after an agitated server debate, the match nonetheless gets under way.Trying to put the inevitable behind us, we took the Allied side to open up the first half. Rounds went back and forth in a tug-of-war fashion. At half-time, the scoreboard displays a modest 5-5 record.

Cloud 9 kicks off GGL Americup 2

Returning to the GGL Americup for its second season, Cloud 9 finds itself in Invite Division 1. The Americup 2 is a competition open to teams of all levels, contrary to Americup's first season, which was invite-only. Our first match up versus Take Notes Bitch went rather successfully. It took place on the newly (and controversially) renovated mp_railyard. We suited up as the Axis forces for the first round and in a few short minutes we had accrued 8 rounds. After switching to the Allied side at halftime, we took the remaining three rounds for a swift victory.

Cyberzone LAN results

Pulling through with a more convincing disposition than at the CPL, we took home a 5-6th placing at the Cyberzone LAN in Bensalem, PA. Pictures from this event have been added to our gallery.Good games to all of the teams we met with and played. Lastly, with the Cyberzone LAN center planning to out-do themselves next month with larger prizes and even more teams, we're going to make the trip back to Philly with the knowledge that we gained from this adventure and come out victoriously.
